SMH’s mission is to foster an intergenerational, intercultural, learning community from
birth to elders guided by Montessori principles.
SMH’s vision is to be a beacon for peace and education.
The Stonebrook Montessori Hub was renovated by MDP with donations from
foundations and individuals from the historic Amasa Stone House, originally a home for
aged women, into beautiful Montessori prepared environments for children from birth to
6th grade. Stonebrook Montessori, a public charter school founded by MDP, operated in
the building from 2015-2020. In 2020, the charter school merged with the Cleveland
Metropolitan School District and became Stonebrook-White Montessori Campus from
2020-2025. As a result of CMSD’s Building Brighter Futures plan, CMSD has vacated the
building effective June 30, 2025.

Stonebrook Montessori Hub Partners
The Cleveland Cultural Gardens are one of Northeast Ohio’s oldest and most beautiful treasures. There are 38 developed gardens, designed and cultivated by distinct cultural or nationality groups, along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and East Boulevard in parkland between University Circle and I-90 along the Lake Erie shoreline. The gardens feature tributes to the poets, philosophers, peacemakers, composers and scientists who have contributed to world culture. There are 13 new gardens in development, and in 2025 the City of Cleveland improved access to this landmark by adding 14 parking spaces on St. Casimir Way, across from the Centennial Peace Plaza.
DBWP believes human effort can heal watersheds. Through science and partnership, we’re restoring the Doan Brook into a place of it’s natural beauty.
Neighbors, cities, and nature advocates joined forces to protect one of Cleveland’s historic urban streams. Together, they created the Doan Brook Watershed Partnership.
From community gatherings at Rockefeller Lagoon to restoring hidden stretches of the brook, DBWP has been connecting people with nature and ensuring this watershed stays part of Cleveland’s story.
Forest City Academy is an elementary school for the child who is wired to explore, build, and move.
Welcome to an active elementary school built for the kids who aren't meant to sit still for six hours a day. At Forest City Academy, students engage in hands-on projects, face-to-face collaboration, and receive the support to advance ahead the moment they are ready.

The Montessori Institute of Northeast Ohio (MINEO) is a professional training center dedicated to strengthening Montessori practice in service of human development.
Rooted in Montessori philosophy and informed by contemporary research, MINEO serves as a regional hub for learning, reflection, collaboration, and innovation, supporting educators, families, and community partners who share a commitment to the wellbeing of children and communities.
